Lot Description
*Saginaw Steering Gear Division M1 Carbine
.30 Carbine. 17.75" barrel length. SN: 3402514. Parkerized metal finish with walnut semi-pistol grip stock mounting late-pattern adjustable rear aperture and front blade sights with protectors, bayonet lug/handguard retainer, and rotary safety. Short-stroke piston driven semi-automatic rifle fed by detachable double stack magazines. Item shows the standard model and caliber markings to the forward receiver, and SAGINAW SG to the rear receiver near the serial number. Stock is unmarked, and likely replaced. Mounts an UNDERWOOD/6-43/{Ordnance Bomb} marked barrel, indicating it was made by Underwood in June of 1943, and was likely a replacement. Receiver shows a punch dot pressure proof mark, and mounts a flat top bolt. Item comes in a CMP box with CMP manual, reproduction operator's manual, and an A.I. marked magazine by Inland.
