Lot Description

**Dutch Contract FN Browning Model 1922 Pistol
World War II

.380 ACP. 4.5" barrel length. SN: 52646. Polished blued metal finish overall with barrel polished and left in the white and mounting checkered black synthetic FN monogram grips. Simple blowback operated striker-fired autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Top of the slide is struck with the large {Crown/W} marking for Queen Wihelmina of the Netherlands. A smaller {Crown/W} appears to the rear frame, while the left triggerguard web is stamped with an underlined 21. Some scattered inspection marks to right triggerguard. Mounts the lanyard staple and ring to the left butt typical of the Dutch contract examples. Left slide legend reads FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL-BELGIQUE/BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE. Item shows Belgian proof marks including the {Lion/PV} mark to the barrel, slide, and frame, with the {Star/C} mark likewise appearing to all these parts. Chamber addditionally struck with the {Crown/Circled ELG} proof. Serial numbers match on the slide, breechblock, frame, barrel, and barrel bushing. Serial number to magazine floorplate does not match, and reads 52674.
