Grooved wooden grip with shagreen covering and twelve wraps of mutli-strand wire. Blade etched with traditional floral, martial and patriotic motifs with a US as the central image on the reverse and a {Spread-Winged Eagle} the central image on the obverse. Etching is very light, no maker or retailer marks are visible. A very light IRON PROOF etching is visible on the spine. The sword is accompanied by its browned steel scabbard with gilt brass mounts.
