Single shot muzzleloading flintlock musket with a form that more closely follows the Fusil de Chasse than any identifiable French military pattern gun, with an attractive Roman-nosed stock profile. Unmarked, flash guard added to lock, sling rings mounted to the counterpane and a single barrel band similar to those on the French 1728 series of arms. No markings on gun. A tag applied by consignor reads "French Grenadier .62 - 590Rb Built by Bill Douglas AKA Sweet William, 2003." Included a brass tipped wooden ramrod and a reproduction sling.
