Item shows the Turkish {Crescent Moon} marking above AS-FA/ANKARA/1935, indicating this was one of the Gewehr 88 rifles rebuilt by Turkey to use standard Gewehr 98 style ammunition and stripper clips rather than the Mannlicher en block clips formerly employed. Left receiver features the loading cut, which partly obscures the original German Gew. 88 marking. Serial number of the bolt does not match. Comes with a leather sling.
