**Finnish Re-Worked Westinghouse Contract Russian Model 1891 Mosin Nagant Rifle
World War I
7.62x54R. 32.5" barrel. SN: 633919. Blued metal refinish with polished bolt set in a varnished straight wrist walnut stock. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle mounting adjustable rear ladder and front blade sights. Barrel shank is struck NEW ENGLAND/WESTINGHOUSE/COMPANY/1915 below the {Imperial Russian Eagle} stamp. Serial number to magazine floorplate does not match. Left side of the barrel displays the boxed SA mark, indicating it went through rebuild in Finland at some point. Original Russian arshin range marks on the left side of the rear sight base have been struck with equivalent mark in meters applied to the right side. Item shows scattered Russian arsenal markings to various parts. Importer mark to muzzle reads CAI ST A VT/M91 7.62R US.
