**Mauser byf/44-Code P.38 Pistol with Break Open Holster
World War II
9mm Para. 4.9" barrel. SN: 5319z. Blued metal refinish overall mounting horizontally serrated black synthetic grips with right panel serrations sticking out and the left panel recessed. Short recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines and mounting rear notch and front blade sights. Left slide is struck P.38 followed by byf/44 manufacturer marking indicating it was made by Mauser in 1944. Item struck with the {WWII German Eagle} on the right slide, left barrel, and left locking lug. {Eagle/WaA135} waffenamt marking appears in two places on the slide, on left frame, left barrel, and right locking lug. Serial numbers match on the frame, barrel, slide, and locking lug. Rear face of magazine is marked with {WaA135} waffenamt and additionally shows P.38v/U on the left side. Comes with most likely reproduction leather break open holster that shows P.38 mark pressed into the rear side and {Eagle/WaA938} waffenamt marking. No manufacturer code visible on holster.
