Lot Description
Lot of 18th/19th Century Indo-Persian Dhal or Separ Shields
1.) About 15.5" diameter. Circular steel or iron buckler shield with rolled rim and chiseled brass and steel fixtures to face. Brass fixtures appear to be shaped like Indian katar daggers. Item also features four rosette bosses attached to fasteners on backside.
2.) About 15.5" diameter. Circular steel or iron buckler shield with a rolled rim and chiseled steel/iron fixtures. Item features four bosses that appear to be inlaid with gold and are connected to fasteners on backside. Shield face is heavily etched with Arabesque floral work, geometric patterns, and some possible gold inlays in a concentric pattern. Includes part of textile from grip.
3.) About 14.5" diameter. Circular steel or iron buckler shield with brass fixtures, a central brass boss, and four sun shaped bosses connected to fasteners. Includes what appears to be the original grip, padding, and leather intact.
