Two Japanese Gilt Wood Figures of Amida Buddha, Edo-Meiji Period
日本江戶時代 木漆金無量壽佛兩尊
Edo-Meiji Period

The standing deity with his hands displaying the Amida mudra, supported on a lotus pedestal raised on an elaborate plinth. The seated deity in a pose of meditation, supported on an open lotus raised on an elaborate galleried pedestal.
Height of larger 26 1/2 in., 67.3 cm.

Property from a Private San Francisco Collection, acquired in the 1960’s, thence by descent
