The overall exterior of the box finely chased with overlapping plantain leaves surrounding rockworks, the removable top opening to the interior compartment covered in yellow brocade between two registers exquisitely chased to show auspicious clouds, the underside neatly bearing an incised inscription jixia qingmi, Da Qing Qianlong yimao nian zhi, equivalent to 1796; set within a nanmu wood box, the sides covered with brocade woven with foliate scrolls and flying phoenix birds amongst meandering tendrils.
