.45 Long Colt. 7" barrel length. SN: 1627. Blued metal finish with color case hardened small parts mounting two-piece walnut grips featuring the SBL initials of inspector Samuel B. Lewis, who inspected the Schofield revolvers procured for the US Cavalry. Single action top-break auto-ejector revolver featuring a latch rear notch and pinned front blade sights. Item shows Italian firing proofs on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. Further markings include the maker marking CIMARRON F.A. FBRG, TEXAS ASM ITALY, PAT. JAN. 17TH/& 24TH '65. JULY 11TH 65. AUG. 24TH. JULY 25TH '71. to the left barrel lug with the right struck SCHOFIELD'S PATS JUNE 20TH '71. APR. 22ND '73. Butt is stamped U.S.
