Lot Description
**W.W. Greener F16-Grade 12 Gauge Shotgun
12 gauge. 30" barrel length. Full and improved cylinder chokes. SN: 58646. Blued metal finish to barrels, frame is bare of finish but was most likely case hardened at some point. Two piece walnut stock has checkering to plain straight grip and splinter forearm, with ivory forend insert and Deeley forearm release. Break action side by side hammerless boxlock shotgun with a solid matte rib, ivory bead front sight, and mid-barrel sight bead that appears to have been removed. Item features extractors, double triggers, Greener safety, and vented rubber recoil pad. Engravings include floral and chain link borderwork, a W. W. GREENER banner, and rosette screws. Barrel is marked W.W.GREENER. MAKER. 68 HAYMARKET LONDON. WORKS. ST. MARY'S SQUARE. BIRMINGHAM. ENGLAND. to flat of barrel rib.
Manufactured sometime between 1915 and 1920, most likely 1916 considering serial numbers for guns produced in 1915 ended at serial number 58536.
