Lot Description
**DWM 1920 Commercial 1914 Navy Luger and P.38 Presstoff Holster
9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 1043l. Blued metal refinish with niter blued and straw colored small parts mounting checkered walnut grip panels. Short-recoil operated toggle locking striker action pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Toggle link shows the DWM logo of Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken, primary manufacturer of the Luger Pistol through World War I. Barrel extension has been struck with the date 1920, suggesting it was one of those completed after the war using excess parts. Commercial {Crown} marks appear on the left barrel, left barrel extension, and left breechblock. A pair of {Crown/M} proofs appear on the left barrel extension with a further example struck above the serial number. Left frame struck with a {Crown/B} above the trigger. The barrel, barrel extension, and toggle components match one another, but they do not match the frame serial number. Frame shows the standard GESICHERT marking to the frame. Item comes with one Waffenamt marked aluminum base plug magazine, and a presstoff holster for a P.38 pistol. Latter item marked with a large P38 model marking behind the belt loops, a CXB manufacturer code of Moll Lederwarenfabrik, and no discernable Waffenamt mark.
