Cheyenne Child's Beaded Buffalo Hide Cradle
sinew-sewn and beaded is colors of red white-heart, greasy yellow, cobalt, light blue, and white; cradle backed using a canvas flour sack with print Gallatin Valley Mills, Bozeman, Montana; boards with tacked decoration and remnants of pigment, overall length 38.5 in. x width 10.25 in.
fourth quarter 19th century
Included is a copy of an edited, typed letter of history for the cradle. The colorfully written letter is dated February 5, 1925.
