(Cologne: Martin von Werden, 1509). 12mo. (vi), li, (63) pp. Illustrated with a woodcut of Jesus and the Virgin Mary on title-page and final page. Full brown calf over wooden boards, remnants of brass and leather claps at fore-edge of each board, stamped in blind, boards rubbed with gouges to rear board; all edges trimmed; illustrated book-plate of bibliographer John Patrick Auguste Madden (1808-89) on front paste-down, book-plate of Tony Genty on same; light scattered spotting to text; contemporary manuscript on rear paste-down.

An early 16th century edition of Pope Innocent III's De Miseria Condicionis Humane, his most renowned work, first written in 1196.
