London: Methuen & Co. Ltd., (1928). First edition. 8vo. xi, (i), 178, (2) pp. Illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard. Publisher's pictorial salmon-pink cloth, stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, other edges trimmed; illustrated endpapers; very light spotting to text block edges; offsetting from publisher's paste-down glue on endpapers (as usual); in original illustrated dust-jacket, spine and panel edges slightly darkened, very small ink scrawl at bottom of front panel, light wear along extremities with small nick in top rear panel edge. With two contemporary Pooh-related ad slips laid in, one from Methuen for The Christopher Robin Calendar, and one for the Original Drawings by Shepard at The Sporting Gallery.

A handsome copy of the third Pooh book, the first to introduce the beloved character Tigger.
