A scene depicting the encampment of the Ponca, and return of three Ponca Native Americans to their camp on the Missouri River near Bazile Creek. The three, including chief Schuh-De-Gá-Che (He Who Smokes), had joined Bodmer's party in May, 1833, and are shown here being greeted by a welcoming party.
