First English edition, one of 3,040 copies published in October 1929. Woolf's text originates from two lectures given by her in October 1928 to students at the two women’s colleges of Cambridge University, Newnham and Girton. First published as an essay entitled “Women and Fiction” in Forum, in March, 1929.
