Lot Description

A group of four coin silver fish knives / slices, various makers, early 19th century

All with pierced or reticulated blades and fiddle-shaped or rounded handles, the first, by John H. Mulford & William Wendell, Albany, NY (active c. 1843-1850), with handle engraved, “Parker,” marked; the second, by Robert Swan (active c. 1795-1831), Philadelphia, PA, with engraved fish to blade with cartouche engraved with monogram, “AR,” marked; the third, by maker “TR,” with engraved fish to blade, engraved with monogram, “JJW,” to handle, marked three times to underside; and the last, by maker “JF,” with engraved fish to blade, engraved to handle end with monogram, “K,” marked.
