Illustrated with etched frontispiece portraits in each volume, each printed in two states, on wove and india paper; 28 etched plates, each printed in two states on wove and india paper; 42 etched in-text and head- and tail-pieces throughout set; all by Strang and Cameron; plates with captioned tissue guards. Includes a folding facsimile of Walton's last will and testament in first volume. Publisher's full brown vellum over beveled-edged boards, stamped in gilt, boards rubbed and bowed, rear board of each volume scratched, spine ends worn; top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed; tape residue on front free endpaper and rear paste-down of first volume; small morocco book-plate of Alfred Howard Thompson on front paste-down of each volume.
