A Wedgwood Saxon Blue Jasperware First Day's Vase, UK, 2009

Stoneware, metal hardware
A replica of the vases, thrown by Josiah Wedgwood and Thomas Bentley, on the first day of production at the Etruria works in 1769. This example is one of an edition of 50, made in Saxon Blue jasper, mounted on black basalt plinths and decorated in gold, made for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the company in 2009. 
Along with a small black hardcover book containing an insert describing the vase.
