Lot Description

An assembled collection of forty-five sterling silver flatware and serving items in various patterns, Tiffany & Co., New York, NY, late 19th century

Comprising a fruit knife, a small seafood knife, nineteen teaspoons, and two large tablespoons in the "Lap Over Edge" pattern, circa 1880, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891), the two tablespoons engraved with monogram, “MAMC,” and tree teaspoons engraved with monogram, “ML”; an oyster server and marrow scoop in the “Indian Chrysanthemum” pattern, circa 1880, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891); an orange spoon and pickle knife in the “Holly” pattern, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891), the spoon engraved with monogram, “AGPO”; eight oyster forks in the “Shell” pattern, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891); three fruit or dessert knives in the “Medallion” pattern, patented 1864, engraved with monogram, “EOC,” marked; a unique individual butter knife with “poppy” design, marked; a gilt-washed in the “Olympian” pattern, circa 1880, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891), with monogram to underside; a fruit knife in the “Custom Engraved” pattern, engraved, “Connor Lawrence,” marked; a mixed metal hammered fruit knife, bearing monogram, to underside, marked; an hors d'oeuvre fork with floral motifs, with monogram to handle end, marked; a crumber in the “King” pattern, circa 1880s, bearing “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891); and two rare mixed metal (mokume) ice cream spoons of unique form, marked “243” and “242,” respectively, the larger one with gilt-washed bowl and evidence of faint monogram.
