A pair of large Chinese "Immortals" vases, Republic period 百仙瓶一對 民國
The neck flanked by two elephant head-form handles, both vases richly decorated, upper and lower register painted with black, red, and gilt, middle section with a panoply of immortals among landscapes, six of the eight Daoist immortals sailing on the river, Liuhai holding a string of coins, Shoulao in a pavilion presenting a peach, seven fairies with their master amidst clouds, the Hehe Erxian and various other immortals on the bank, apocryphal Qianlong marks to side and underside.
