These transom panels, designed in 1927 for the J. Walter Thompson offices in the Graybar Building, New York, are represented in the Samuel Yellin Archive as Job No. 2660. The archive (Samuel Yellin Collection, Architectural Archives, Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania) contains an in-progress sketch of the present lot before the design was fully finalized, and a black and white photograph of a transom of identical design dated 1928.
