First quarto edition (third overall edition). 4to. viii, 70 pp. Illustrated with a hand-colored aquatint frontispiece and 18 hand-colored aquatint plates by W. Stack after Spilsbury. Full brown morocco, stamped in gilt, front and rear joints rubbed, scattered light wear to boards and extremities; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers; light offsetting from plates onto text. Abbey, Travel 381; Blackmer 1585 (first edition)

A handsome first quarto edition of Francis B. Spilsbury's splendid collection of views and account of the Middle East, sketched and written by him while a British naval surgeon during the Napoleonic campaigns of 1799 and 1800.
