Lot Description
Comprising two heightened profile silhouettes of ladies, by Master William James Hubard (English, 1808-1862), circa 1830, one retaining old advertising label verso, both in conforming maple frames; a silhouette of a gentleman and lady, by John Miers, London, circa 1820, both retaining original frames with paper label verso, the lady heightened; a reverse-glass painted silhouette of a lady by Hinton Gibbs (English, active 1790s-c. 1822), retaining frame and paper label verso, "H. Gibbs, Profilist" a silhouette of a gentleman with gilt border, signed, "T. Rider fct," l.r., retaining original label verso; a brass-mounted wood lid containing a silhouette of a gentleman with gilt border; a cut silhouette of a gentleman laid on mother-of-pearl backing, brass pendant frame; two reverse-glass painted depictions of a British clipper ship and an American schooner, framed; and a small engraving: "Shakespear Buildings.--Theatre, and Arcade", matted and framed.
