Lot Description

An assorted group of sixteen Chinese Export porcelain blue and white and grisaille tablewares late 18th / early 19th century

Including pieces decorated with floral and armorial motifs, some with monograms: "RMH," "AJ," "JB," and "M"; comprising a teapot, a bowl, four tea bowls, three teacups, three saucers, a covered syllabub cup, a vase, and two tea caddies (lacking lids); together with a miniature Chinese blanc-de-chine vase with raised berry and rat motif and a miniature jadeite tea bowl. (18 items total).

Provenance

Collection of L. Delmar and Susan Burrows Swan, Wilmington, Delaware.
Susan B. Swan was a needlework scholar and author. She served for many years as a curator at Winterthur Museum.
