[Americana] [Declaration of Independence] Rodney, Caesar Manuscript Document, signed

Delaware: In Legislative Council at Dover, October 28, 1783. One page, 12 1/4 x 8 1/8 in. (311 x 206 mm). Manuscript document in a secretarial hand, boldly signed by Founding Father and Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware, Caesar Rodney, as Speaker of the Delaware General Assembly, being a subpoena issued to Robert Jones, Joseph Morris, William Renfield, Thomas Burbage, and six others of Sussex County, for testimony of "things which they shall know or be examined upon concerning the conducting and carrying on the last general Election held at Lewis Town for the said County of Sussex on the first day of this present month..."; counter-signed by James Sykes; docketed on verso, and with additional manuscript by James Newman, Sergeant at Arms. Expertly window mounted; creasing from contemporary folds; small repair at docket fold; scattered foxing on recto and verso; remnant from old mount along right edge of verso.
