The obverse of the coin features a right-facing bust of Franz Joseph I, emperor of Austria-Hungary, and reads "FRANC IOS I D G AVSTRIAE IPERATOR", while the reverse features a crowned coat of arms of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire with date and value.
