Lot Description

[Counter-Culture] Bukowski, Charles EPOS: A Quarterly of Poetry

(Crescent City, Florida: EPOS, 1962). First edition (one of approximately only 500 copies printed). 8vo. 26 pp. Extra Issue, printing Bukowski's Poems and Drawings. Association copy, inscribed by Bukowski with a poem, to his friend and fellow poet, the author and television writer, John William Corrington: "To John William Corrington:/more poems./we go on/until we stop--/one way/or/the other./Charles Bukowski". Edited by Will Tullos and Evelyn Thorne. Illustrated by Bukowski. Original stiff staple-bound yellow printed wrappers, stamped in green and in black; all edges trimmed. Krumhansl 7

A lovely association copy of Bukowski's rare second book, inscribed with a poem to his friend and fellow poet John William Corrington (1932-88). This special extra issue of EPOS Quarterly was completely devoted to Bukowski's work. Of the 500 copies printed, about 300 were sent as compliments to subscribers, and 200 were for sale. Of those, this is one of an unknown number retained by Bukowski for his personal disbursement.
