[Counter-Culture] [Bukowski, Charles] Quicksilver: A Quarterly Magazine of Poetry

Fort Worth, Texas: Grace Ross and Mabel M. Kuykendall, Summer, 1958. Volume II, Number 2. 8vo. 25, (1) pp. Edited by Ross and Kuykendall. Featuring Bukowski's poem "The Hunted" on p. 13. Original stiff staple-bound printed blue wrappers, stamped in dark blue and silver, top front and rear corners of wrappers slightly torn; fore-edge untrimmed, other edges trimmed; spider web patterned endpapers.

An early publication of Bukowski's poetry, and his first appearance in the Quicksilver Quarterly (his 19th published appearance overall). Overall, Quicksilver published his work in seven issues between 1958-62. Along with his publishing in other literary magazines like Hearse, Approach, Trace, Compass Review, and the San Francisco Review, this period represented a turning point in Bukowski's career and the beginning of his larger critical and popular reception.
