Lot Description

A Federal child's cherry slant-front desk together with a needlework sampler late 18th / early 19th century

The slant front revealing fitted interior, over three graduated drawers, molded base on shaped bracket feet; sold together with a needlework sampler, worked with polychrome threads on linen ground, depicting alphabet above inscription, "Willminah G. Rockafelow/ was born Oct 8th 1833/ Finished July/ 19th 1844," surrounded by birds, flowers, flower basket, and hearts, meandering vine border, framed.
