Seymour Easton (British, 1859-1916) "Tabard Inn Library" Revolving Bookcase, circa 1902

Oak, iron, brass
In three sections, comprising a rotating base with oak feet and iron support pole, an oak case, and an oak cap in the form of a roof
The door carved: "The Tbard Inn Library, Exchange Station" and bearing a brass plaque on the interior of the door: "1604"
Additional plaques on the exterior of the case carved: "Library Notices", "With all the Red Tap on the Box"
The cap carved in the two gables: "The Tabard Inn"; along the entablature carved: "The Best Reading Rooms/In The United States/Are the Homes of/The American People"
