Lot Description

[Prints] Audubon, John James White-headed Eagle

London: R. Havell, (1834). Hand-colored engraving with aquatint and etching, on J. Whatman Turkey Mill watermarked paper, dated 1834. Engraved, printed, and colored by R. Havell after J.J. Audubon’s watercolor. Elephant folio, 39 1/2 x 26 5/8 in. (100 x 67 cm). Sheet toned; foxing along most edges and at corners; scattered spotting in image; bottom left corner lightly worn; very slightly trimmed along edges. In frame, 42 1/2 x 28 3/4 in. (108 x 73 cm).
