Circa 1780s. Engraved spade-shield book-plate, printed by American Patriot Paul Revere, for Boston lawyer, and later, Massachusetts Speaker of the House and Attorney General, Perez Morton (1751-1837). 4 x 2 3/4 in. (102 x 70 mm). Lot includes Morton's cut signature, dated 1781, excised from an unknown book. Illustrated in Brigham, pp. 113-114
