All volumes complete with all ads; No. XI with corrected text on p. 324, last line; No. XIV mixed state, with "if" omitted in line 9, p. 426, and "431" present, pp. 423-426 sprung in same; No. XV with additinal ad slip "The Dramatic Works of Douglas Jerrold" laid in; earlier state two-line errata in No. XIX/XX. Illustrated with frontispiece, vignette title-page, and 38 plates by H.K. Browne ("Phiz"), all plates with varying degrees of foxing and darkening; plates in No. II dampstained; plates in Nos. I and II very darkened; plate edges in Nos. IV, V, VIII, and IX very darkened. Bound in original limp green printed wrappers, scattered minor wear and soiling, ownership signatures at head of nos. III, VI, VII, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XVI, and XVIII; scattered minor wear and soiling to text and ads; nos. IV, V, and VIII unopened or partially unopened; book-plate of "Universitas Bostoniensis" on interior front wrapper of No. I; in green cloth fall-down-back box; two book-plates on interior panel of same.
