Nineteenth-century quarter brown cloth over boards, boards moderately soiled, chip at head of spine of first volume, very slight evidence from now-removed library labels at foot of same on each volume; all edges trimmed; light to moderate foxing to prelims and text; light dampstaining in top corner of pp. 215-400 in second volume, old mold residue at same in pp. 255-346; scattered marginalia in pencil in each volume; The Valentine Museum ink stamp on front paste-down of second volume.
