London: W.H. Dalton, 1839. Second edition. 4to. 8 pp. Illustrated with large folding lithographic panorama by Bracebridge, on three combined sheets; 105 1/2 x 10 1/2 in. (268 x 27 cm). Contemporary three-quarter black morocco over green cloth-covered boards, stamped in blind and in gilt, extremities and spine rubbed, spine ends worn; all edges trimmed; bookseller's ink stamp on front paste-down; repair at bottom pp. 7/8; a few small separations along top and bottom plate folds; 3 inch separation at upper stub. Scarce large panorama of Athens. Although the first edition was printed in 1836, this second edition contains an entirely new image drawn from a different perspective.
