A merchant ship's logbook for the Brig Lovely Lass from Philadelphia to Batavia June 29, 1805-August 23, 1806, Jno. B. Hodgson, Master

Tall folio, 56 leaves, self wrappers. Logbook, written entirely in MS., for the Brig, Lovely Lass, commanded by Captain Jno. (Jonathan) B. Hodgson, on its route to the capital of the Dutch East Indies, Batavia (now Jakarta, Indonesia). Recording daily weather conditions, wind patterns, course directions, cargo shipments delivered and received, as well as some interactions between the crew, including an incident on Sunday March 23, 1806, involving a "quarrel".
