Lot Description

A Chinese pale celadon and brown jade censer and cover, mounts by Edward I. Farmer, New York the jade late Ming/early Qing Dynasty

The jade carved with twin beast head handles on either side, the body incised with archaistic patterns, fixed to a later five-footed giltwood stand. The censer later mounted as an inkwell with sterling silver mounts engraved at the rim with floral patterns, bearing Farmer's stamp to the underside of the hinged cover. (2).
