[Literature] Dickens, Charles Autograph Letter, signed
Gad's Hill Place, Higham by Rochester, Kent, April 27, 1870. One sheet; 7 x 4 1/2 in. (178 x 114 mm). Autograph letter, signed by Dickens, to Archibald Wilson of Poughkeepsie, NY: "Dear Sir/Pray accept my thanks for/your kind remembrance in sending/me a copy of your father's poems./For which, and for your pleasant/note, I am much indebted to you./Faithfully yours/Charles Dickens." With original postal envelope; mounted to card. Creasing from original folds. Lot includes one cabinet card, one carte de visite, and one engraved portrait of Dickens, as well as one admission ticket to a public performance of Dickens' "Pickwick Papers" (presumed ca. 1870s), as well as one Dickens House postcard, and two £10 English banknotes depicting him.
