Profusely illustrated with 210 full-page black and white plates and many, many in-text drawings, plans, and photographs. Red cloth, stamped in gilt, with some scuffs and scratches to rear boards; top edges stained red; two small dents in fore-edge of text block of first volume, affecting about 15 plates with a very small tear (less than a quarter of an inch) in the outermost margin.
