A group of five walking sticks pertaining to hiking Various dates 19th/20th century
Comprising a Basque white metal and medlar wood makhila walking stick, the engraved handle unscrewing to reveal ice pick, the shaft carved, the mount above ferrule signed "AINCIART LARRESSORE.1920," with pointed ferrule; a horn and briarwood mountaineering cane, the carved horn handle unscrewing to reveal pick, the enlarged collar with mosaic applied mirror and turned wood bobbin for length of twine, possibly a systems to attract birds or insects, with sharply pointed steel ferrule, probably Swiss; a Swiss horn and faux grained alpine cane, the brass ferrule unscrewing to reveal a 2-inch blade; a steel and birch hammer cane, with modern rubber ferrule; and a steel cane with pick-form handle.
