A Lega mask Democratic Republic of Congo
Carved wood and pigment, the facial features reduced to the essence of form, two oval eyes split by a raised ridge denoting the nose, the rectangular mouth open in a jagged grimace, painted in white with red dotting, two parallel bands of horizontal black run from each eye, perforated at the sides for attachment, raised on a bespoke mount.
