Lot Description
A Kwele mask Gabon
Carved wood and pigment, of oval form, the face within a recessed centre coloured with kaolin, a minimalist anthropomorphic form of downturned eyes and triangular nose, the mouth suggested by a vertical black line, bordered by an ochre pigment, with painted inventory number '1840' to reverse, raised on a bespoke mount.
