Washington: July 28, 1862. Folio on vellum. (measurements). Document signed by Abraham Lincoln as President of the United States, countersigned by Edwin Stanton as Secretary of War, appointing William Ludlow as aide-de-camp. With engraved vignettes and paper seal. Docketed at upper left recto. Manuscript contents moderately faded and browned, signatures clear and legible. Window mounted and framed with a portrait of Lincoln, a bronze presidential medallion, and a descriptive plaque.
