Later printing. 8vo. viii, 696 pp. Inscribed by Wodehouse to English actress Gertrude Lawrence on front free endpaper: "To my beloved/Gertie/from Plummie/P.G. Wodehouse/Christmas 1946." Red cloth-covered boards, stamped in black; all edges trimmed; ownership signature in pencil on recto of rear free endpaper; lacking dust-jacket. McIlvaine B2a4. Together with: [Geyer, Siegfried] Wodehouse, P.G. (adaptation) Candle-Light New York, November 11, 1929. Program from the first production, at The Empire Theatre, starring Gertrude Lawrence, which opened on September 30 and ran for 128 performances.
