Accompanied by old correspondence regarding the painting, the envelope inscribed, "Painting done about 1835 Griffith home in Malvern, PA. Little boy was Maurice C. Griffith, 1827-1912. Buried in Old St. Peter's churchyard in Paoli Valley, with marked headstone; oil on canvas, framed.
