From Lipschitz To Victoria Donohoe (in great part relating to the then upcoming exhibition of his work at The [New York] Metropolitan Museum of Art): "…at the Metropolitan things are going smoothly, we are speeding to the final solution and I confess it is a ___ step in my career. I will have to compete with so many masterpieces assembled there, but I am doing it gladly since I feel that I am serving as a guinea pig for the...farseeing experiment not to separate our art of today from the art of the past.
