From the library of Virginia Congressman John Love, and with his signature on title-page; also from the library of physician Henry Barton Jacobs and with his illustrated book-plate on front paste-down. Contemporary tree calf, rebacked, stamped in gilt, red leather spine label, corners worn; all edges trimmed; later endpapers, first free endpaper separating; text toned and moderately to heavily foxed; dampstaining in gutter of title-page; offsetting and glue residue from a now removed newspaper clipping on preface and title-page verso; inscription in pencil on first free leaf, annotation to rear ads.
